Audre Teo's Circuit Breaker (ComfortZone Breakthrough) Project

Audre Teo's Reflections on Covid 19

About a day before the Eve of Chinese New Year, I woke up to some rather alarming news. China had put WuHan under lockdown and several other major Chinese cities were on their way to lockdown as well. All due to this influenza type virus known as Covid 19.

At that time, I hadn't realised how far ranging the implications of living in such an interconnected and dynamic world is, where physical distance and space seemed inconsequential and how the term "viral" actually meant that something very small / minute can actually be very powerful... pretty much like how the tiny breeze generated by the fluttering of a butterfly can cause powerful events the other side of the planet.

Now social distancing and living out the new normal has put a new spin on things. Indeed, in just a spin and a blink of an eye, we have progressed decades... legislation rolled out in just days, people working from home and children moving into home based learning - all out of necessity of preserving the lives of as many as possible.

No longer is it important to plan the most exciting and exotic holidays, no longer climbing the proverbial corporate ladder, no longer scheming how to get the latest pre launch techie gadget. Now the project of the day is all about how to manage the boundaries between home life and work life and somehow keeping a semblance of having them separate even while the physical space has merged.

My Own little Out of Comfort Zone Project

Some of us may have let our busyness get in the way of the more life-giving things that we always want to do in life, like - making that long overdue phone call to a dear friend, taking time to really connect with our parents and siblings, clearing the clutter that had built up in our homes and lives, making sure that everything that we do is of positive benefit and is not of unintentional negative impact.

Everyday growing just a little and being just a little better, bringing just a little more light and joy to someone, will accumulate and snowball into something much bigger, at the end of just one year.

So, in the spirit of challenging myself to do something that is out of my comfort zone, I have created 2 videos that is both educational and that I hope can bring a little bit of joy and smiles to some faces. 😇
